DESCRIPTION:The Woods Hole Film Festival Writers Symposium presents three days of comedy writing\, observations\, and war stories with veteran TV comedy writer Steve Young. Friday\, February 19 – Sunday\, February 21\, 2021. \nABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM\nSo\, you’re funny. Now what? Could writing and creating comedy be your hobby\, or even your career? In this multi-day workshop with former Letterman and Simpsons writer Steve Young\, you’ll get an insider’s glimpse of what it’s like to be a professional television comedy writer\, and a chance to help develop your own comedy writing chops via exercises and discussion. You’ll team up with fellow participants as a taste of a collaborative writers room and learn about the skills needed to work in that environment. A Harvard graduate\, Steve teaches television history at New York University. DESCRIPTION:The Woods Hole Film Festival season series WHFF Virtual presents the documentary NEVER TOO LATE: THE DOC SEVERINSEN STORY\, including an online Q&A with Doc Severinsen himself\, along with the filmmakers on Saturday\, February 27 at 7pm EST. \nABOUT THE FILM:\nAfter three decades as the colorful bandleader to The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson\, master trumpeter Doc Severinsen defies nature with a relentless schedule of touring\, teaching and performing into his nineties. A beloved musical icon traces his groundbreaking career and personal trials underscoring a life of inspiration and obsession.\n(Available to watch in the USA only) \nWatch the trailer:\nhttps://vimeo.com/399995725 \nFor the best community viewing experience\, we recommend starting the film at 5:00 p.m. EST on Saturday\, February 27 and then joining WHFF Executive Director Judy Laster and Doc Severinsen for the Q&A on Zoom at 9:00 p.m. EST. \nThe film will be available to watch between Thursday\, February 25 at 8am and Sunday\, February 28 at midnight EST. If you purchase a ticket in advance you will receive an activation link to view the film via e-mail on Thursday morning\, February 25. If you purchase a ticket on or after February 25 you will receive a watch link immediately after your order confirmation. A free ticket to the virtual Q&A will be made available when you purchase your ticket. A separate access link for the Q&A will be e-mailed to you approximately one hour before the start of the event.
