Join WHOI’s Chris Reddy, oceanographer, inventor, and author of the book Science Communication in a Crisis: An Insider’s Guide, for a conversation about how science works when time is of the essence.
With behind-the-scenes stories and high-profile case studies, including the Deepwater Horizon oil spills and the 2021 X-press Pearl disaster in Sri Lanka, Chris lays out the major challenges that scientists face during an environmental emergency, when clear, consistent communication matters most, and offers advice on how to navigate the maze of competing interests to deliver actionable information.
Light refreshments in the Redfield Lobby will follow the event.
