Woods Hole is about 80 miles south of Boston and about 80 miles east of Providence. Driving to Woods Hole from both Logan Airport and TF Green Airport takes about an hour and a half without traffic. Traffic on-Cape can back up significantly on summer weekends at the Bourne and Sagamore bridges.
From the North (via the Bourne Bridge)
Take Route 28 south following the signs for Woods Hole the Islands after the divided highway ends. You will follow these signs on to Woods Hole Road. Stay on Woods Hole Rd. until you come to the village of Woods Hole. When you see Bank of Woods Hole bear right on to Water Street. Water Street runs through the center of Woods Hole.
From the Mid-Cape and Lower Cape
Take route 28 North through Falmouth Center. At the Village Green, bear left and then take a right at the blinking light onto Woods Hole Road. Stay on Woods Hole Road. When you see the Bank of Woods Hole, bear right onto Water Street.
Traveling by boat
Come under the drawbridge (opens every half hour in the summer) into Eel Pond. Dockage may be available through Woods Hole Marine (508) 540-2402 for a fee. You can tie up for up to a half hour on the landing, to the port side of the channel, for supplies, ice and takeout food.
