The Woods Hole Film Festival showcases independent film spotlighting emerging filmmakers around the world. The Festival also promotes the work of Woods Hole Film Festival alumni both during and after the festival. In addition to screening films, enjoy workshops and panels!
The 31st Woods Hole Film Festival will begin on Saturday, July 30, 2022 and end on Saturday, August 6, 2022. The Festival will take place in person in Woods Hole, Falmouth, and Cotuit. If you are unable to attend in person, they have a virtual option as well! Tickets can be purchased on each film’s event page.
Music
This year’s special guest is Julian Lage! Lage is a guitarist who has spent more than a decade searching through American musical history. Although Lage was born in California, he is a New York-based musician who has previously collaborated with Gary Burton, John Zorn, Nels Cline, Chris Eldridge, Fred Hersch, and more. Lage will perform following the documentary “The Chisels Are Calling” by Trevor Laurence. The performance will take place on August 2nd at 7:15 pm at the Simon Center of the Arts in Falmouth.
The Captain Kidd Restaurant in Woods Hole will host a few performers throughout the festival. On Saturday, July 30 at 10 pm, BONGOGENESIS will be performing Afro-Cuban. Kim Moberg will perform as a singer-songwriter on Wednesday, August 3 at 10 pm. On Friday, August 5 at 10pm, Anna and the Moderns will perform.
Ticket Packages
You can select tickets in any combination from now through August 6th. You can purchase a 10 pack or 6 pack of tickets for live in-person screening and events.
Virtual Screenings are sold for all films as a household and individual package. Both packages give virtual access to all feature films, short films, and programs. Tickets for other events such as workshops, panels, and master classes are not included.
More Opportunities to Watch
Each morning between July 25-29, filmmaker chats on Facebook live will be hosted at 10 am. A special event screening of “Bonnie Blue: James Cotton’s Life in the Blues” will be held on July 28. This film is only available in-person and is not included in a ticket package selection.
This year, the Woods Hole Film Festival is collaborating with the Museum of Science in Boston. On every second, third, and fourth Thursday in June, July, and August, the Museum’s theater spaces will feature performances and film screenings. On June 16, July 21, and August 18 at 7:30 pm, the Museum will host screenings and panels featuring films from the Woods Hole Film Festival!
