Spring is right around the corner here in Woods Hole, and it’s a perfect time to visit Cape Cod and especially Woods Hole as the daffodils bloom in Spohr Gardens and all along Woods Hole Road. The cherry trees pop at about the same time (late April to early May depending on the year) and this year we are gathering in Woods Hole on May 7, 2016 for a the third annual traditional music festival organized by Arts Falmouth. Here is the line up of music from last year, to give you a sense of this awesome event.
After the music, wander down the bike path about a mile from Woods Hole to the incredible Spohr Gardens for the best view of daffodils blooming on the sea water’s edge. This gorgeous piece of property was preserved for all by the generous Spohr family, and its gentle sloping hills are dotted with old millstones which come alive in spring when surrounded by daffodils of many varieties.
If you are lucky, you will see the swan that make Oyster Pond their spring home as you explore the waterfront at Spohr Gardens. If not, you will still enjoy the views, crisp salt air and collection of large seafaring anchors that decorate the space.
Spohr Gardens is located at 45 Fells Road off of Oyster Pond Road in Woods Hole. Spring is the perfect time to visit Spohr Gardens, one of Woods Hole’s hidden gems. Book your stay in Woods Hole today by exploring our accommodations listings here. See you in spring Woods Hole!
