Woods Hole Historical Museum Discover science in Woods Hole during a one-hour guided walking tour! Tours are offered Tuesday through Friday through August 26 by the Woods Hole Historical Museum. During the tour participants learn about the illustrious history of science in Woods Hole and the groundbreaking research that is still carried out to this day. The tour covers the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute’s discovery of the Titanic, environmental and ecological problems faced by Cape Cod and its waters, and the value of the Marine Biological Laboratory’s biomedical research. Falmouth Road Race

For 44 years the Falmouth Road Race has brought thousands of people from all over the world to the town of Falmouth. It’s amazing to see how quickly the town transforms as participants, coaches, and families crowd the streets. In total, the race is about seven miles long. The race begins at the Captain Kidd in Woods Hole and winds around Nobska Lighthouse to finally finish along Grand Avenue at Falmouth Heights Beach. Winter in Woods Hole

The last time the Eel Pond froze over for skating was 2004, and the last time we saw this much snow fall in Woods Hole was probably the Blizzard of 1978.  That’s right, it has been a tough winter in Woods Hole — with lots of snow, shoveling, ice, below zero temperatures and arctic winds.
