On Saturday, August 12, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., the nonprofit organizations of Woods Hole have joined together to present a free public day of interactive science along Water Street. Explore science on the streets of Woods Hole and an get up close view of a working research vessel and a Coast Guard rescue boat. Woods Hole Celebrates a 23-Year Film Festival Tradition

Woods Hole is perhaps best known as the point of departure for vacationers heading to Martha’s Vineyard, not to mention scientists heading out to do research at sea. But each summer, the community becomes a major destination for filmmakers and film lovers alike during the Woods Hole Film Festival, the oldest film festival on the Cape and Islands and one of the longest running festivals in New England. Fourth of July Cape Cod style in Woods Hole

Calcutta Fishing Derby

The 2013 Calcutta Fishing Derby has come to a close, and the winners were announced last night at a party at the Landfall Restaurant.  Fishermen and women from all over Falmouth and Woods Hole gathered to share the delicious bounty including fried bluefish and striped bass bites with cajun dipping sauce, baked striped bass, roasted bluefish with mayonnaise, homemade clam chowder, several salads and cole slaw.
