The Falmouth Road Race celebrates a milestone with the 45th running this Sunday, August 20. If you know your race history, you’ll recall it began in 1973 as the brain child of local bartender, Tommy Leonard, so appropriately, it started out as a bar-to-bar run from his two places of employment – the Cap’n Kidd on Water Street in Woods Hole to the Brothers 4 in Falmouth Heights. Woods Hole Science Stroll 2017

On Saturday, August 12, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., the nonprofit organizations of Woods Hole have joined together to present a free public day of interactive science along Water Street. Explore science on the streets of Woods Hole and an get up close view of a working research vessel and a Coast Guard rescue boat.
