Winter sunsets in Woods Hole are especially dramatic. But after a long, cold, snowy winter Woods Hole is no different than any other New England community in looking forward to spring. At the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Ocean Science Exhibit Center, we’re getting ready to open for the season on Monday, April 21. So if your looking for something to do on school vacation week or have always been interested in ocean science we invite you to stop by.
The village of Woods Hole is home for Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) but that does not mean the science stays on the east coast. Researchers at WHOI have been assessing radioactivity released into the ocean from the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power facility. Learn more about radiation in the ocean and how the WHOI citizen science campaign aims to collect and analyze ocean samples to monitor radiation from Fukushima. » Visit website
