The Falmouth Road Race celebrates a milestone with the 45th running this Sunday, August 20. If you know your race history, you’ll recall it began in 1973 as the brain child of local bartender, Tommy Leonard, so appropriately, it started out as a bar-to-bar run from his two places of employment – the Cap’n Kidd on Water Street in Woods Hole to the Brothers 4 in Falmouth Heights. WHOI Ocean Science Exhibit Center Extends August Hours

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) Ocean Science Exhibit Center is extending its hours to include Sundays during the month of August. “We’re pleased to be able to increase our hours to include another weekend day so that more visitors to Woods Hole have the opportunity to discover what’s happening in the world’s ocean and learn more about WHOI science and engineering through our exhibits and programs,” said Ocean Science Exhibit Center Manager Kathy Patterson.
