Falmouth Road Race

For 44 years the Falmouth Road Race has brought thousands of people from all over the world to the town of Falmouth. It’s amazing to see how quickly the town transforms as participants, coaches, and families crowd the streets. In total, the race is about seven miles long. The race begins at the Captain Kidd in Woods Hole and winds around Nobska Lighthouse to finally finish along Grand Avenue at Falmouth Heights Beach. On Saturday, August 6, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., the nonprofit organizations of Woods Hole have joined together to present a free public day of interactive science along Water Street. Explore science on the streets of Woods Hole and an get up close view of a working research vessel and a Coast Guard rescue boat. Ocean Science Exhibit Center Open for the Season

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) Ocean Science Exhibit Center is open for another fun and engaging summer season. Visitors to the Ocean Science Exhibit Center will learn about what’s happening with the world’s ocean and the innovative ocean science and engineering being done by WHOI researchers. “There are many hands-on exhibits that let visitors learn about WHOI research and the vehicles and tools developed here at WHOI,” said Ocean Science Exhibit Center Manager Kathy Patterson.
