Hilarity descends on Woods Hole with Neil Simon’s, “Rumors”, this October

The Woods Hole Theater Company (WHTC) brings Neil Simon’s brilliant farce, Rumors, to the Community Hall this October, continuing its 42 years of engaging and promoting the cultural growth of the community of Woods Hole and the vicinity. WHTC operates year-round, producing a wide variety of plays and special events at affordable prices.

Rumors, is an uproariously hilarious farce surrounding bickering, false identity, lies, relationship trials and of course, rumors. The show opens as  Chris and Ken Gorman arrive at the Sneden’s Landing townhouse of Deputy Mayor Charlie Brock to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary to his wife, Myra and find that he has shot himself. Although only a flesh wound, chaos ensues as the other three couples begin to arrive to find that Myra and the servants are nowhere in sight and the Gorman’s strive to protect Charlie’s reputation as they piece together what has happened. Mass confusion and lies  quickly mount as the evening spins out of control into “classic farcical hilarity”.

The Woods Hole Theater Company production of Rumors is directed by Corinne Cameron and produced by Pat Farrell, both of East Falmouth and Stage Managed by Shannon Sylvia of Falmouth. The cast is comprised of some well known, local and veteran community theatre actors including; Peter Cook (East Falmouth) as the high strung attorney, Ken Gorman, Linda Monchik (Fall River) as the anxiety-ridden, Chris Gorman, Robert Minshall (East Falmouth) as the irascible Lenny Ganz, Sonia Schonning (Centerville) as gossip-monger, Claire Ganz and Grant Willis (Falmouth) as the smug psychiatrist, Ernie Cusack.
