The new Water Street Kitchen and Public House, a farm-to-table, creative
seafood eatery springing up this year in place of the old Fishmonger on the
Woods Hole waterfront, showcases a from-scratch menu built around local
food sources and seasonal ingredients, world cuisine and up-to-the-minute
culinary trends. Try small plates including Lobster Steam Buns – with local
live lobster cooked and picked every day – or go for an Italian twist on sushi
with Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, Nobska Farm chilis and Cape Cod sea salt. Large
plates work with every palate and appetite, ranging from the Bombayflavored
Monkfish with curry butter, carrot-ginger puree and aloo saag to a
juicy and tender Double-cut Pork Chop with truffled pierogies – be hungry!
The bar features sophisticated and utterly delicious craft cocktails – think
amaros, domestic craft gin, mezcal and again, local ingredients made from
scratch. Gaze at boats bobbing on Eel Pond from the front or watch the sun
set across Vineyard Sound out back – there’s even a small patio on the way.
Advance reservations recommended.
